The first few weeks of your baby’s life are filled with exciting milestones, new experiences, and many questions. At Fairfield Pediatrics, we are committed to helping families navigate this important stage with confidence by providing compassionate, comprehensive newborn care. Our goal is to support your baby’s healthy growth and development while providing parents with the education, guidance, and reassurance they need during the transition to life with a newborn.
After your baby is discharged from the hospital, one of the first steps is scheduling a newborn visit with your pediatrician. These early visits allow us to monitor your baby’s health, assess feeding and growth, review hospital records, and address any questions or concerns you may have.
During your baby’s first appointment, we will evaluate weight gain, feeding patterns, sleeping habits, jaundice, and overall development. We will also discuss safe sleep practices, newborn care, and what to expect during the first few weeks at home.
Whether you choose to breastfeed, formula feed, or combine both methods, we are here to support you because we know that feeding concerns are among the most common questions new parents have and we are happy to provide guidance and recommendations to help ensure your baby receives proper nutrition. If additional breastfeeding support is needed, we can discuss available resources and lactation consultation options.
